On 25 and 26 June at the University Center “Bachinovo” of SWU, Blagoevgrad was held a seminar on “Monitoring of the National Strategy for Lifelong Learning 2014-2020”. The event was organized by the team of the project “National coordinators in the implementation of the European Agenda for Adult Learning” of the Ministry of Education and Science, and among the participants were the team members and the Management Committee of the project and directors of vocational schools in Blagoevgrad and Southwestern region.
The seminar was opened by Ms. Valentina Deykova, National Coordinator in implementing the European agenda for adult learning and project manager, and in the course of the program spoke Mrs. Yanka Takeva – Chairman of the Union of Bulgarian Teachers and Mrs. Vania Tividosheva – “Podkrepa” (both members of the project Management Committee), and many of the attendees which reflected into a lively and productive discussion on many topics related to the implementation of the national strategy for lifelong learning.
During the first day of the seminar was presented an Annual report on the implementation of the National Strategy for Lifelong Learning in 2014 by Mr. Julian Gotchev – State Expert in “Lifelong Learning” department in FAEP Directorate, MES and member of the project team and the team members Kerka Andonova, Margarita Gateva and Iliana Taneva analyzed the state of formal schooling and adult education.
The second day of the seminar, in which participated Ms Vanya Kastreva, Deputy Minister of Education and Chairman of the project MC was devoted to practical activities. Mr. Orlin Kouzov – member of the project team and a representative of the ICT Directorate and Mr. Plamen Arnaudov – external expert, demonstrated the capabilities of the electronic platform for monitoring of the National Strategy for Lifelong Learning for the period 2014 – 2020 year, and the attendees united around the thesis that the next monitoring report will be generated by means of the platform. A number of topical issues were discussed such as the update of the National Information System for Adult Learning and opportunities for all stakeholders to take advantage of the information gathered and the numerous indicators that can serve for a variety of analyzes in the field of lifelong learning.
The seminar passed with active participation of the attending directors, various aspects related to the status and prospects of vocational education in Bulgaria and the need for active cooperation in the field of lifelong learning were discussed. Most participants expressed their satisfaction with the form and the overall organization of the workshop and indicated their willingness to participate in similar initiatives in the future.
